to begin with...

may I just take a moment to explain the blog's title, or, "handle" or whatever you call it?

I was thinking about my over-the-edge habit of using sticky notes and thought - how about "clippings" like in newspaper clippings? You know?

Yeah, well...it does kind of roll off the tongue, yes?

Pam's Sticky Clippings... I kinda like it. Anyway, here's a place where I can talk to you, my sisters, and my friends - new and old...about, oh...just anything.

If you're a sister/friend ... Hi guys! Let's visit!

If you've just clicked on and we haven't met yet, Hi! Welcome to my blog.

I facilitate a Bible study class on Sunday mornings at my church - the Golden church of Christ in Golden, Colo. We have a great time sitting at God's feet and talking/learning about Him and His Word together.

We are a group of about thirty women - but would love that number to rise and include you.

I also love scrapbooking, decorative painting and quilting. I share scrapbooking and quilting with my family and friends, but as to my painting, I've taken that to another level...setting up a website with diyestores.com called Chickadees Hollow. It's new...okay it may look kind of simple, but it's a home for the painting that I share with my Mom - Polly and my sister - Donna.

I invite you to share your love of these crafts here too, maybe some hints, your favorite websites, etc.

Just chattin'

Hi everyone:
First, I’ve been wanting to share a few of my favorite website haunts, so here they are:
Daisie Company   ginajane_designs@msn.com – this is a website that has graphic designs that you can buy/download…ie. Making party favors – decorations for those cute transparent plastic paint buckets (great for Easter baskets), designs to download and print off to use on scrapbook pages, journaling sets, and lots more – click on and see for yourself
CottageArts.net – this site is primarily for scrapbooking – again you purchase/download graphics to print off and apply to your scrapbook pages.
Scrappindoodles.com – more scrapbooking graphics, plus sets for web pages

So...how's everyone doing in these sub-artic temperatures? I ventured out on Monday to work - no problem - last night, however, was terribly cold. For some reason when it's really cold our upstairs gets really warm!!!  Talked to Robin last night, they're having trouble with a couple of frozen pipes - that's no fun, been there/done that. But Brandon talked to Zack today - everything is much better. We're supposed to go visit thru the weekend with them, hope there's water.
Are you all still reading thru the Bible? I've read ahead  (just in case I couldn't this week) and have just finished reading about the Israelites going thru the Red Sea...noticed some things I'd not seen before, ie., God wanting to take Moses out before he approached Pharoah. Zipporah saved his hide that time. Ever read that? Exodus 4:24-26...interesting, yes? The comments in my NIV says the Lord was angry with Moses because he had not circumcised his son.
That raises several ideas - the Lord wants us to do things "the way He says do it" for one. How hard is that? Obviously, very hard - 'cause some are still striving it seems to even get church right.
Any comments? send them my way - see you next week.
Pam

Just another day in paradise...really?

It’s Wednesday, Girls…half way through the week, how is that going for you? Just another day in Paradise… or, this is as good as it gets…or, what has God planned for me today? It’s all in your perspective isn’t it?
Today when I look out our upstairs bedroom window I can see that it’s kind of gloomy out there. Well that isn’t what I would have designed, but then, who said I got to do that?
I’ve been mentally going through the things that need to be done today…notice I didn’t say “have to be done”, but they could stand to be done today. You know, like the laundry, grocery shopping, etc.  Now, I can look at that as being drudgery and put them off, or I can resist procrastinating and get with it (have you ever noticed that every time you procrastinate, it comes back to get you?)
I finished Job yesterday in my daily Bible reading plan (by the way, how’s that going for you?).  You know every time I read Job I get it a little more – I guess that’s the same with all of God’s word – but what struck me this time is that his friends were really obnoxious. With those guys around you would hate to see what Job’s enemies were like, you know?
And, what is so neat is finally reading God’s response – which is what we’re interested in anyway – and how awe-inspiring it is.  God has such a command about Himself in the writing. I need to read that because sometimes we’re met with people in our lives who “think” they can control everything and everybody and guess what…? My God’s bigger. I know that sounds like something a little bitty kid would say – but sometimes…you get kind of weary with the people with which you have to deal. I get frustrated and you know what, sometimes you can’t get out of a direct confrontation.
This week I had to do that, it wasn’t pretty, I probably didn’t handle it the way others would, but I got through it, again. I really felt like Job, I mean I can understand him a little better now.  I know Job felt relieved after his talk with God and so do I. Pray for us all – all of us who have to deal with people who don’t know any better yet, I guess.
I’m praying for you all – and remembering to give God the glory in all things.   Pam

Lazy Sunday afternoon's

Good afternoon….kind of a quiet time here at the Perry house. Brandon’s cooking, Skye-pie is his Daddy’s shadow and I’m writing to you. First, it was so good to big back in class after being sick last week. It’s interesting how much you miss when you’re not able to attend on Sunday mornings. I look forward to our time together every time.
It was an interesting class today, don’t you think? These are things we already know for the most part, but it’s neat to be able to hear what others say…it reaffirms our own thoughts. I still am thinking about Jesus and His position as witness, advocate, etc. on our behalf. And it seems as if my family is always “needy” here lately…you know? I’m aware, of course, that we aren’t the only ones, but it seems like we’re always “into something”, and major stuff too!
For years and years it was like we were just going along…nothing too stupendous going on that we couldn’t/didn’t cope with on our own. We prayed as always, acknowledging God was with us and Jesus is our friend. We didn’t get it that He was our best friend…that we were, or maybe He was preparing us to get to know Him even better, like a better, more intimate relationship?
I am so glad that we aren’t going through this “stuff” on our own, that He is here with us all…
He knows all the particulars – you know, those things that we don’t go into when we ask for prayers for strength, guidance, etc. for ourselves/our families – and He knows what we will need to get to it and through it. And, and this is the best part, He does take care of us so well that we don’t need to worry and/or lose sleep about it. He’ll listen, guide, give us the tools/support/strength….and all we need to do is ask and trust Him.  Sound too good to be true?  When was the last time you asked to see something amazing?
Have a great Sunday afternoon…

Stuck at home with a cold...

Hey everyone,
though it's not fun to be stuck at home with a cold, there is something to be said for stopping and having the time to meditate on things, read/study, blow your nose, meditate some more, cough/sneeze, blow your nose...you get my drift. But you know something? I don't obsess or get overwhemed or worry about stuff that I can't get out to do anyway...so, I might as well meditate on things, read/study, blow my nose, meditate some more...

Also, it's a good time to get back on track with my reading through the Bible schedule - haven't done it in a while - hope you all are taking the time to read your Bible some this week.

Prayers please that this cold won't drag on and on...
love, Pam
