Good afternoon….kind of a quiet time here at the Perry house. Brandon’s cooking, Skye-pie is his Daddy’s shadow and I’m writing to you. First, it was so good to big back in class after being sick last week. It’s interesting how much you miss when you’re not able to attend on Sunday mornings. I look forward to our time together every time.
It was an interesting class today, don’t you think? These are things we already know for the most part, but it’s neat to be able to hear what others say…it reaffirms our own thoughts. I still am thinking about Jesus and His position as witness, advocate, etc. on our behalf. And it seems as if my family is always “needy” here lately…you know? I’m aware, of course, that we aren’t the only ones, but it seems like we’re always “into something”, and major stuff too!
For years and years it was like we were just going along…nothing too stupendous going on that we couldn’t/didn’t cope with on our own. We prayed as always, acknowledging God was with us and Jesus is our friend. We didn’t get it that He was our best friend…that we were, or maybe He was preparing us to get to know Him even better, like a better, more intimate relationship?
I am so glad that we aren’t going through this “stuff” on our own, that He is here with us all…
He knows all the particulars – you know, those things that we don’t go into when we ask for prayers for strength, guidance, etc. for ourselves/our families – and He knows what we will need to get to it and through it. And, and this is the best part, He does take care of us so well that we don’t need to worry and/or lose sleep about it. He’ll listen, guide, give us the tools/support/strength….and all we need to do is ask and trust Him. Sound too good to be true? When was the last time you asked to see something amazing?
